What a difference a day makes!
Sunday, the sun shone, the snow receded like an outgoing tide.
Hundreds of robins landed to inspect the newly revealed field.
Between morning and night, the garden gate was liberated from snow, the log pile emerged, so work toward next winter’s wood can resume, and fists of rhubarb punched their way up through the soil.
We still have a long way to go even before the cold weather crops such as onions, spinach and beets can go in the ground, but it does look as if I’ll be able to finally harvest last year’s parsnips before the end of the month.
Suddenly, I’m inspired to plan this year’s garden. There will be dirt to play in again!
